Uninvited surprises
I was dismayed today to find that one of my favorite radio stations had disappeared in the night, to be replaced by, of all things, Frank-FM. Frank, it seems, plays the best classic rock in Southern New Hampshire. Frank's music is better than those all those other classic rock stations, who "play all those songs you've never heard before." Frank invited me to stay tuned to win a New Hampshire Community Technical College Summer Fun Beach Bag.Frank, wherever and whoever you are, you suck. And I hate you.

Frank FM is not to be confused with Mike FM, his big brother in Boston. Mike FM plays "everything." Judging by the band logos on their TV commercial, it's almost all bands that I don't like. A surefire way to have a crappy station is to play "everything." Then no one is happy.
Frank FM sucks. As does The Mill, another recently rebranded station here in Manchester. In fact, just about all radio stations suck. Ben, you're in the media business. Can't you fix this?
I wish I could. All of our NH stations are being eaten up to make way for more classic rock stations. In fact, that's basically all that NH has now. It has two fairly terrible top forty stations, a ubiquitous adult contemporary station playing in every office in the state, a rock station that wishes it was a classic rock station, a classic rock station that wishes it was the rock station that wishes it was a classic rock station, and a country station. All other radio stations are beamed in from Boston, which means that the further you drive away from the Massachusetts state line, the more you want to pound your head against the steering wheel in agony.
I hear Circuit City is doing brisk business installing CD players.
