Cultural Relevance Escapes Us Once Again

Unbelievable...

Make sure you at least skip through to about 4:30 until the end.

Bonus points if you can figure out whose idea this was, and whether or not the older people though this was a good idea or just got forced into it.

(Yeah, I think so, too.)

Wow, that is awful on so many levels.

It's clearly a joke.

The pews are empty. The choir members obviously think this is completely ridiculous. You can see some of them holding in their laughter and smirking. Those who are too painfully sincere I'm guessing are just playing the joke out as far as they can.

Oh, and the website mentioned in the final credits leads nowhere.

Motivation? To show how stupid the music really is?

No matter why...it's rather like watching a horrifying auto accident in slow motion, isn't it?

Well, I thought that it was an audition tape, so it wasn't a truly "live" performance. It made sense that they would've done it in an empty sanctuary in that case. I didn't check out the website, though. Hmm.

I figure it was the choir director's idea. And a God awful one it was - especially the take the robe off ending.
